Haute Couture? More Like Hot Couture! – When Burlesque Meets Fashion

Being a lover of both, a burlesque show and a fashion show, I am in actual heaven when I see the two arts meet.

First, it was Immodesty Blaize who wowed us at Ziad Ghanem’s Fall 2010 collection,
where in a sensational and very dramatic mini show on the catwalk, she came out of
the layers and layers of divine Ziad Ghanem couture, ending up in a heart-strikingly
beautiful, vintage-looking, boned, peek-a-boo inner garment, which left the audience
-quoting the fabulous Georgie Bee, shoe designer and one of the models at the show-“ sliding right off their seats in complete couturegasm”.

Now, you didn’t think that Nonita would be as evil as to tease you with the pics and not
give you the video as well, did you? – Of course she is not!!!! So, here is the video too

This time it is the fabulous Dita Von Teese at Jean Paul Gaultier. Dita stripped-literally-to the
bone, peeling off layers of mouth watering Jean Paul Gautier Couture at Paris Haute Couture
Fashion Week, ending up in a skeleton-like corset piece.

Cool hey? I can’t help but wonder if Anna Wintour was as excited about seeing Dita’s bones
as I was.

And talking about Dita, I bumped into this fantastic piece of art-vert-teasing by the brand
Perrier, starring Dita Von Teese. And let me tell you: Ditta, honey, now we are talking!

This is the best piece of art/interactive product placement ever!!! (and ahem! note: I am a
girl saying that) so, it is not only to be appreciated by the legions of men, who I am sure that
by now might be as hooked as me, playing with the little buttons. Oh Dita, the things that
you make us do!

You start off by entering Dita’s mansion – you have to enter your date of birth, to confirm
you are old enough to come play with Dita – (genius!) Once in, the grand doors to her mansion
open, and you are allowed in-flashy car and all- to the lush mansion, where you can then get
to play games with Dita herself, and errr “cool off” ? with a bottle of Perrier, of course.

This is brilliant! Hats off to the creative team that produced this brilliant piece of advertising
and of course to the fabulous Dita for her brilliant performance in it!

They don’t call her Dita Von Teese for nothing d’ ya know?
